Tenice Benson was born April 10, 1963 to Betty Jean Tate and the late Willie Frank Tate in Birmingham, Alabama. She went on to be educated at Gardendale High School.
At an early age, she joined Hayes Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership Reverend Hogan. She later became a member of Greater New Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Nathaniel Powe.
For 34 years, she had a loving and devoted companion, Mickey Broaden.
She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Frank Tate; her grandparents, Frank and Tennie Tate; and her great-grandmother, Glennie Lee Madison. Tenice peacefully departed her life on Thursday May 31, 2018.
She leaves to cherish in her memories: a loving and devoted companion, Mickey Broaden; her mother, Betty Jean Tate; her two devoted daughters, Tenice (Ramon) Tate and Keunta (Andrew) Peake; daughter’s father, Herman Roosevelt Benson; four sisters: Anaya (James) McKinnon, Jill (Charles) Johnson, LaTania (Larry) Hicks, Glenice (Randy) Slayton; two brothers: Willie (Lovtrice) Tate and Keith Tate, all of Birmingham, Alabama. Loving grandchildren: JaMonica (Moni) Pippens, Andajaia Peake, JaKylah Pippens, Keundre’ Peake, CaMarius Tate-Martin, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
