Mrs. Sheryl Denise Rodgers May was born January 12, 1976, to the proud parents of Ms. Essie Pearl Rodgers and the late James Futrell.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She was Christened at The Rush Memorial AME Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After moving to Leeds, Alabama, she joined The Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Randy E. Moore. She served faithfully until the church was temporary closed due to the pandemic. She joined the Jr. Choir, the Adult Choir, and later she became a member and director of the Sanctuary Choir.
She also started a Mime Ministry Perfect Image at the church. She was The Dance Ministry Instructor for the Angels of Praise.
Sheryl was educated in the Leeds School System and was a graduate of Lawson State Community College.
She was preceded in death by her father Mr. James Futrell, her grandparents Mr. And Mrs. Lonnie and Effie Rodgers, uncles Charles and Lonnie Rodgers.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband: Jerell May; sons: LaDarius M. Rodgers, Alexander Walker, and Kenya Rodgers; grandsons: Bryson, Braxton, Zaydin and Kingston; her parents: Mr. and Mrs. James and Essie Brown; sisters: Takema Rodgers, Leeds, AL, and Keena R. Washington, Randolph, MA; brothers: James H. Brown, Rhode Island, Andre Brown and Joshua Brown, both of Boston, MA; her favorite , caring and Loving Auntie Rose; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
