Robert Booker, Sr. Obituary

Mr. Robert Booker was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late George and Hattie Booker, He was the third son of eight children. Six siblings preceded him in death, Willie Booker, George Booker, Jean Booker, Jimmy Lee Booker, Kim Booker, and Hattie Kingston.

Robert attended the Birmingham City School system. After a two year stint in the U.S. Army, he moved to Detroit, Michigan. He was employed by General Motor Corporation for 25 years. In 1964, he married Sallie Thomas, and to this union four children were born.

In 1998, Robert returned to Birmingham, Alabama to care for his ailing father. He chose hot Alabama, versus snow and ice from Detroit, Michigan, and resided in Birmingham for 22 years until his untimely death.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three sons:Robert Jr., Gregory, and Kevin Booker; and his oldest child: Carmen Ramona, all of Detroit, MI; one sister: Patricia Bowens (Leroy) of Queens, NY: two sisters-in-law: Cotis Booker and Josephine Booker; three grandchildren: Tanautica Gordon, Malik Douglas and Amira Faith Booker; two favorite cousins: James Smith and Robert Stevens; good friends: Al Lewis and Ms. Molly Bee Holmes; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
