Morris Fitts, Sr.

Deacon Morris Fitts was born on April 29, 1944 to the late Gus and Irene Fitts in Faunsdale, Alabama.

Deacon Fitts loved the Lord and professed Jesus as his Lord and Savior.  He was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Elder A.J. Johnson, Liberty Church of God Cathedral and later join New Bethlehem Baptist Church, Hayden Al. where he served as a Deacon. He was educated by the Marengo County Public School System and retired from Associate Grocery after 39 years of service.  Deacon Fitts was an advocate for community growth and served as Mayor of the Colony Township, Hanceville AL for four years. 

On Friday, October 9, 2020 Morris departed this life to his eternal home leaving to cherish his memory his devoted loving wife Parish Annie Mae Fitts; three sisters, Mary Bell, Linden AL, Lucy Brown, Patterson, NJ and Rosie Kiah, Florence, S.C.; two brothers; Clifford Fitts, Chicago IL and Alex (Rosie) Fitts, Birmingham AL, Children; son, Morris Fitts Jr, Marietta, GA, Daughter, Patricia A Fitts, Pensacola, FL;  Granddaughter, Kunisha Snow, Birmingham , AL  two sisters-in-law’s; Lozella Joiner, Birmingham AL, Bobbie Parker-Barnes, Birmingham, AL; two  brother-in-law’s; Elder Jesse Parker, Birmingham, AL and Lester Parker, Birmingham, AL., three God Children; Min. Christopher Parker (Ronda) Huntsville, AL, Dante Parker, Birmingham AL, Sheila Parker, Birmingham, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Josephine Hinton, Bessie Sherman and Martha Fitts; Brother, Gus Fitts, Jr.
