John McKinney, III Obituary

Firstborn of 13, and Father of 7, John Henry McKinney III, was born on April 12, 1965 in Birmingham, Alabama to Maude Flowers McKinney and John Henry McKinney II.

From an early age, he was taught the wonderful truths of our Lord Christ Jesus & held a great passion for God’s Word throughout his walk of life.

John attended and graduated from Pinson Valley High School.

He later became married to Markeesha T. Nickerson July 17, 1991 who together raised 7 beautiful children. Namely: Corey L. Nickerson McKinney, David L. McKinney, Sabrina J. McKinney, Emmanuel L. McKinney, Rachel J. McKinney, Samuel J. McKinney, and John Henry McKinney IV.

John Henry McKinney III also stands in honor of serving in the Army branch of our U.S. Military.

Of all his noble accomplishments & characteristics, three words could unify the very core of his essence: Hardworking, Warm hearted, & Courageous.

John had high reputations known by many for working diligently and skillfully without complaint., Whether Hot or cold, indoors or out, slack was not once named among him and for years he worked in this manner until his day of rest.

Compassion was no stranger either, he had a heart for life and for people. He received in return of people the exact energy that he gave. Amiable, good natured, and just an all- around likeable man.

John displayed his Faith & Courage in any situation that withstood him. If the obstacle was grand, he accepted the challenge. If the road ahead seemed dim, he carried his lamp of faith to light the way. He was a defender, ever teaching and encouraging those who were weak to only believe, to finish their battles, and to walk in victory.

Left to Cherish the golden memories shared with John Henry McKinney III are his 5 Sons and 2 daughters, (Listed previously) and his 7 brothers and 5 sisters. Namely, Anthony McKinney, Elijah McKinney, Michael McKinney, Gabriel McKinney, Isaiah McKinney, Matthew McKinney, Roman McKinney, Katrina Hawkins, Gloria McKinney, Vicki Parker, Faith Mixon, and Chariti Hawkins.
