Jerry James Wells

Mr. Jerry James Wells was born on April 16, 1949, to the late James and Bettie Wells in Birmingham, Alabama.

He accepted Christ as his Lord ans Savior at an early age and became a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where he served with the Usher Ministry and Men's Choir.

After graduating from Hayes High School; Jerry enlisted in the United States Army where he served in Vietnam War. Jerry received several medals and stars. He was released back home after three years of service with an Honorable Discharge. He was employed with Delta Airlines for 18 years and Morris Properties for over 20 years where he retired.

On September 26, 2019, Jerry made his heavenly transition from Earth. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Jessie Wells and Hudson Wells; one daughter: Jerri Sekete Wells.

He leaves to cherish his memories four children: LaShawn (Cornelius) Brooks, LaWana Wells-Carter (Mike), Juriel Wells and Duriel Wellsl a loving fiancee': Alethea Woods; two sisters: Betty Nears and Patsy (Tim) Waters; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
