Mr. Jeffery Antonio Davis was born on August 22, 1961 to Trudy Mae Davis and Edward Riley (U.S. Army) in Birmingham, Alabama. Jeffery was a 1980 graduate of J.H. Phillips High School. Jeffery was a musician that played the cymbals, drums, and was a Drum Major in the Marching Red Raiders band. Jeffery was known for his finesse and animated dance moves as drum major and cymbalist.
After high school, Jeffery enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served his country. Jeffery was employed by St. Vincent’s Hospital and FedEx. Jeffery was a passionate lover of music and was a local disc jockey known to spin records as, “J.D. the DJ the Old School Party Maker”. Jeffery would often host watch parties on social media with his favorite daily musical selections which included his hilarious commentary. Jeffery had an infectious laugh, a humble spirit, and a strong, devoted, and overwhelming love for his family and friends. Jeffery loved his family and friends passionately and was known to always unselfishly help others, especially those that were in need. Jeffery was an active member of E-Bell(s) Social and Savings Club and a University of Alabama football fan.
Heaven got a little brighter as Jeffery grabbed his ticket and boarded the Soul Train as he departed this earthly life and entered peaceful rest in Soul Heaven on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at the Birmingham Veterans Administration Medical Center. Jeffery was true born soldier.
Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Reginald Charles Davis; grandparents, Sperling and Annie Mae Davis (Lady); great grandparents, Della and Charlie Wright; uncles, Charlie Wright (Buddy), and Ernest Wright (Dee); loving aunts who nurtured and fostered Jeffery and Reginald upon their mother’s death, Dorothy Jean Davis and Johnnie B. (John Henry) Smoot.
Jeffery is survived by a son, Anthony Frazier; two grandchildren, Dariana Frazier and Anthony Frazier Jr.; nephew, Cartezz Crawford; an uncle, Mr. Leonard Y. Hill Jr.; special cousins, Bonnie Jean Lockett, Vernice McCroey, Valerie (Moses) Hardy, Darlene (Robert) Drake, Susan Moss, Paula Roberts, Carolyn Riley, Johnnetta Young, Madalyn Roberts, Monica Roberts, Leonard Dewayne Hill, and Nicholas David Hardy. An incredibly special friend and brother, Mr. Kirk Holt; friend, Jerrie “Red” Johnson, godchildren, Taniel & Alyssa and a host of relatives and friends.
