Rev. James L. Green was born on June 24, 1941, to Mr. George and Mrs. Bertha Green that both proceed him in death.
James was a spirited child called “Poppa”. James had a calling on his life that led Him to give his life over to God in his early adulthood.
He was a very hard-working man that made sure his family was provided for. He worked for over 20 + years at Merita Bread as a truck driver.
Though some may have found him to be stern in natural, he would help anyone that asked. He would spend his free time working in the yard, building items, painting or drawing. He loved talking about God, a topic he studied for years which flourished his relationship and understanding of God’s word.
James left his earthly body on April 21, 2020, and fell into his Savior outstretched arm to have that eternal peace.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Ynette Green, who cared for him throughout his life until the very last breath. There is a special blessing for Yvette Jones, his sister-in-law that tirelessly help in his care until his final day as well. James was blessed to still have his brother Edward (Arlene) Green; sisters Jean Woodham, Joyce Posey and Anne Green. He also has 10 children he leaves behind Michelle Green, Torre Green, Bertha Green, Diana January, Tory Green, Kevin(Latoya)Green, Ryan Green, Deanna(Julian)Moore, Sharnae Green, James (Veronica) Green Jr, Makenzie Green and a host of grand and great grandchildren that he proceeded in death. A special thanks to Apostle Henderson, Minister James Perry, Mr. Luvert Jones, Mr. James Cannon, Mr. Dennis Odom, and Comfort Care hospice for all the support during his life.
