Ms. Geraldine Henderson Junipher was born February 20, 1940, to the late Reverend I. H. Henderson and Mrs. Minnie Ruth Henderson. At an early age, she confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. She served faithfully as a member of the Hallelujah Choir. She also received a "Proclamation of Service" from the City of Irondale for being one of the oldest members of the church, having served for over 50 years.
As a young lady, Geraldine met and married the late Young Adam Junipher. To the union, four children were born.
Geraldine had a passion for serving God through song. She was a precious mockingbird who sang with her beloved sisters and became known as "The Stars of Faith".
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. I. H. Henderson and Minnie Ruth Henderson; her sisters, Emma, Fannie, Betty, Catherine, Thelma, Pauline and her brother Lovell. She transitioned Saturday, October 3, 2020, at University Hospital.
Geraldine leaves to cherish her memory, her loving children: Voncester (Jerry) Tucker, Mollie Junipher, Rico (Cindy) Junipher, Sr., and Ronda (James) Nicholson, all of Birmingham, Alabama; five grandchildren: Rico (Stephanie) Junipher, Jr., Jeremy Junipher, Gabrielle Nicholson, Alexandria Nicholson, and Justin Junipher; five great-grandchildren: Aaliyah, Tyson, Hansel, Nylah, and Piper; one beloved sister: Jewel Pittman, Birmingham, Alabama; two brothers: Wayne (Robin) Henderson, Detroit, Michigan and Ishmel Henderson, Jr., Leeds, Alabama; one special niece: Gale Layton, Irondale, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.
