Mr. Frank Truss, Jr. was born to Mr. Frank and Sadie Truss December 21, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama.

Frank Jr. confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Rev. T. D. Bussey.
Frank Jr. was affectionately known by many people as “Fella”. He attended Cameron Lane and Lane Elementary Schools, graduated from Ullman High School Class of 1968. He was very active in sports, Baseball was his favorite. He played short stop and 3rd base.  After High School he played baseball many years with the West End Dodgers.

Frank Jr. lived a very active life until his health presented him with many challenges. He did not meet any strangers and his family felt he knew everybody in the world.  He loved family and people in general because he was a people person with a gift for gab, and he was widely known for his smile.

Frank Jr. retired from the Fairfield Housing Authority.

Frank Jr. departed life early morning on May 2, 2019 at Brookwood Princeton Hospital.  He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. Frank and Sadie Truss, a brother Robert Truss, a sister Delois Truss Hawkins, two nieces Brenda and Cheryl Truss and a nephew Henry Hawkins Jr.

He helped raise Tory and James Ashley, Tavares, Starsha, Zjakoyia and Elena Davis. 

He leaves to cherish his life and memories a wife: Edith Gayle Truss; a special companion: Shelia Davis; sisters: Gene Hill of Montgomery, Alabama, Linda and Gail Truss of Birmingham, Alabama; sisters-in law: Mary Truss of Long Island, New York, Debora Ashley and Bennie Kelley of Birmingham, Alabama; a brother–in-law Henry Hawkins, Sr. of Birmingham, Alabama; nieces: Veronica Hilliard of Birmingham, Alabama, Debora Truss, Norfolk, Virginia, Sheryl Chance of Central Islip, New York, Lorie (Myers III) Hawkins of Selma, Alabama, Gwendolyn (Prentice) Woods, Karen (Irenio) Johnson, Latoria Hawkins all of Birmingham, Alabama and Vernishia (Sherard) Graham Montgomery, Alabama; nephews: Ronald Hawkins of Birmingham, Alabama and Vernon (Devonna) Hill of Powder Springs, Georgia; 15 great-nieces; 10 great-nephews; 4 great great-niece; 10 great great-nephews; 16 cousins; Reginald Wayne Shipp a special friend and road partner and many friends.
