Deacon Eddie L. Dick was born on November 28, 1929, in Birmingham, AL to the late John and Leola Dick. He was the second oldest of seven children. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
He was affectionately called “Eddie”, “Daddy”, “Dad”, “Granddaddy”, “Uncle Eddie”, “Deacon Dick”, “Mr. Dick”, and “Head”. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
In 1953, Eddie united in holy matrimony to Gertrude Brown, and to this union, they produced three children.
Eddie joined Damascus Baptist church in the late 1970s. He later joined Sardis Missionary Baptist Church in the early 1980s. He served on the Deacon Board and, attended the Adult Men Sunday School Class until his health declined.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife of sixty-seven years, Gertrude Dick; Children: Ronald Dick, Donald (Patricia) Dick, and Belinda Dick, all of Birmingham, AL; Grandchildren: Mychael and Michele; Sisters-in- law: Rev. Mary (Sam) Moore, and Corliss Ford; Brothers-in-law: Daniel (Lossinea) Brown, Harold (Connie) Brown, Collis (Linda) Stephens, Jr., and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins. and friends.
