Earnest Jackson "Good Buddy" was born on March 17, 1935, to James and Alice Jackson in Gallon, Alabama. He was educated in the Marengo County School System.
Earnest confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Luke Baptist Church, Gallon, Alabama.
Earnest later moved to Birmingham, Alabama, where he joined New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and choir member.
Earnest was united in Holy Matrimony to Leila McKinney, on November 19, 1984.
He retired from Vulcan Material Company in the year 2000, and was awarded numerous perfect attendance certificates.
Earnest "Jack" had many hobbies, such as fishing, gardening, and of course the best built dog house any one man could build.
Jack was well know by his grin, laughter, and great on lingers.
He leaves behind his wife Leila of 36-years; sons, Earnest (Joyce) Jerome Jackson, Joe McKinney, Leon (Sherease) McKinney, and Corey Jackson; one daughter, Nancy Richardson; sisters, Veronica Jackson and Belinda (Thomas) Scott; brothers, William (Eula) Richardson and Christopher Jackson; special cousins, Abraham Lee and Alex Richardson; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; two sisters-in-law, Jesse Jackson and Celeste Woodson.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sheria; brothers, Larry, Ronnie, Clint and James, Jr.; sisters, Cynthia and Jeanette.
