Donnell Rhodes was born on October 12, 1954, to the late Ruth Rhodes and the late Willie Scott .
Donnell accepted Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church of West End, under the pastorage off Reverend G. T. Townsend. He later joined More Than Conquerors Faith Church
where he served faithfully as a Deacon, usher, parking lot attendant and on the Intercessor team.
Donnell was educated In the Birmingham City School System. Upon graduation, he went to work for Callahan Eye foundation for a number of years. Donnell’s passion was to be a truck driver, so upon completion of truck truck driving school, he went off to be a driver for Walker Drugs and Steven Graphics, which he did for a number of years.
He met and married the love of his life, Sandra Rhodes. They remained married for 23 years until his death.
Donnell leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Cori Donnell Rhodes, Donnell Rhodes II (Charletta), Gary Richardson Jr. (Tameka), and one daughter. April Richardson; four beautiful granddaughters whom he cherished, London, Kingsley, Morgan and Regan; six sisters, Wanda Harper, Karen Garrett (Solomon), Geneva Maynard, Cludia McGraw, Mildred Carter, Sally Jean Waycase; three brothers, Claude Scott, Clyde Scott, and Willie Shearers; a very special nephew, Fabion Rhodes; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
