Diane (Skinner) Fondren

Diane Skinner Fondren born October 3, 1948, to the loving parents of Orman and Earnestine Skinner in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended Birmingham City Schools and received her high school diploma from A. H. Parker High School. She worked many years at Berthon’s, Arrows Cleaners and later finished her career at Sav-a Trip Cleaners.

She confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, Pratt City and ended her spiritual journey serving as a member of The Tower Christian Church in Grayson Valley, AL.

Diane was married to Kirk Fondren Sr. and they shared many memories together.  She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and selfless spirit and personality. 

On July 13, 2020, the Lord called her home after battling a long fight with breast cancer. She leaves to cherish her memories with her loving children Robbie (Byron) Jackson and Kirk (Kewanna) Fondren Jr., her beautiful grandchildren Ciera Curtis, Quandarius Curtis, Kenae Fondren and Julian Carlisle, 2 bonus grandsons Noah Smith and Brandon Jackson, her wonderful brothers John McNeal, Orman Skinner, Jerome (Teresa) Skinner Sr., Michael Hubbard, and Jeffrey Hubbard, her two amazing sisters Beatrice (Yogi) Walker, Michelle (Kerry) Cosby, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Orman and Earnestine Skinner and two brothers Robert Earl Skinner and Willie Skinner.
