Derrick Glenn Ray, Sr

Derrick Ray Sr. was born November 12, 1957 to Henry and Mary Ray. He accepted Christ at an early age.

Derrick was educated in the Birmingham City School system.  He married Felicia Ray in May 1989 and began raising a blended family.  The two later divorced but remained close.  He attended Faith Missionary Baptist Church for several years where he served as the sole landscape personnel.  In addition he was recognized for being a volunteer parent in Birmingham City Schools.  

His passion was restoring antique cars.  He could identify the make and model of an antique just by the sound of the engine.  The most rewarding part of his life was becoming a Grandfather.  He cherished time spent and creating new memories with his grandchildren.  

He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, brothers Henry Ray Jr., David Wayne Ray, Cedric Ray, Larry Ray , and Sister Pamela Lewis.  

He leaves to cherish his memory: Daughter Frantoria Rogers, son Derrick Ray Jr. , special nephew Dexter Ray, sister Cynthia Young, brother Tyrone Ray 3 grandkids, and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
