Born on the beautiful day on April 11th,1926, “Chuck”, (aka) Charles Lee Jr. was one of three children Maxine Lee Bishop and Meryl Lee, (preceded in death), of Charles Lee Sr. and Arvella Samples-Lee (Shreveport, LA). Chuck served in the armed forces during WWII. Upon completion of serving his country, he attended Grambling State majoring in Education and he also pledges the prestigious, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. He later moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he met the love of his life, Juanita Denise Skipwith-Lee. They were married in 1960 and remained a union of one until the demise of his beloved Juanita in 2005.To this union they had a wonderful, beautifully and intelligent daughter, Terrie Charlise (Carlton Burrell) was born. Chuck was employed by the Boy’s Scouts of America and Booker T Washington insurance company. He later implemented his entrepreneurial skills and work as the co-owner/manager of Glory’s Restaurant in Fairfield, Alabama.
A man devoted to his family and God, Chuck became a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church in 1959 under the leadership of Pastor Wilson Fallen Sr. where he served as a Deacon for many years. He later joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the Christian guidance of Pastor OC Oden and served on the Board of Trustees.
As Chuck’s transition to his new home in heaven, he leaves behind his devoted daughter Terrie Charlise, (Carlton D. Burrell) Birmingham Al. Two beautiful and strong Granddaughters, Britney and Jasmine. Four Great Grandchildren, Bre’Anna, Bri’Elle, Jason and Jared all of Birmingham, AL. A beloved and caring God-daughter, Patrice Johnson-Anthony (Birmingham, AL.), God-son Judge David Hobdy, III ( Dr. Cynthia Hobdy) One brother in law and two sisters in law, He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
