Billy Buford Henderson entered the gates of heaven September 27, 2020. Billy was born October 14, 1956, in Dekalb County, Alabama to the late Mildred McElrath and the late Willie B Henderson.

Billy was very active in his church and community. At an early age he confessed faith to Jesus Christ and joined the Mt. He played Football, basketball and softball at Collinsville High School. He graduated from Collinsville High School in 1975. He worked at Mar-mil Steel, Westmoreland Tire Center and Howell until his health failed him. Billy was an avid Auburn Fan. War Eagle!

Billy was proceeded in death by his mom, Mildred McElrath and his dad, Willie B Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memories his stepmom, Darquitta Henderson of Augusta, GA, three sisters; Baleita Ansley of Augusta, GA, Ulonda Lett (Mitchell) of Augusta, GA and Stancey Johnson (Anthony) of Memphis, TN. He has two nieces and four nephews. He leaves a special God daughter Taneshia Reese of Fort Payne, AL, and a God daughter Aeriel Chambliss of Fort Payne, AL. Special uncle Ralph Jelks, Sr. of Fort Payne, special cousins Shanda Reece of Fort Payne, AL. and Earl Jelks of Collinsville, AL.

Billy was adored and admired by all those who had the privilege of being in his presence.  He was Buford, Big Dog and Billy Bu to his family and friends. Billy enjoyed fishing, singing, horseshoes, softball, basketball, the beach and assisting family and friends (Lebanon Uber). He will be dearly missed but his spirit will live on in the hearts and memories of those he loved.

He lived his life according to the word of God.  His favorite scripture passage was John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
