Mrs. Bernice Walton McCain was born on August 26, 1940, to the late Mary Kate Walton and James Frank Holloway in Chambers County, Alabama.
She confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of New Canaan Baptist Church in Camp Hill, Alabama.
Bernice was united in holy matrimony to William McCain, Sr., and to this union four children were born.
Bernice was employed with Belks (McRae's)for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by two of her children Carolyn Perdue and William "Jeff" McCain, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories, three children: Sandra McCain, Anthony McCain and Jerome McCain, all of Birmingham, Alabama; five grandchildren: Crystal Lawson, Ebony McCain, Antonio Rogers, Deandra Copes, and Tammara Turner, all of Birmingham, Alabama; sister: Mary Ann Vines of Opelika, Alabama; brothers: Daniel Walton and Rev. James Marshall; sisters-in-law: Georgia McCain of Birmingham, Alabama, Virginia (Billy) Bryant of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Betty (Steve) Watts, Long Beach, California, Judy (James) Marshall of Birmingham, Alabama, Ollie (Kemp) McKinney of Sylacauga, Alabama ; brother-in-law: Billy (Dorothy J.) Jones of Gardendale, Alabama: uncle: Clyde E. McCain and Cloefield McCain of Southfield, Michigan; devoted friends: Walter Johnson, Birmingham, Alabama, Christopher Moon, New York, Rashard Woodruff and Sharon Woodruff; special friend: Wanda Hall; 11 great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
