Mrs. Willie Mae Milton was born on September 18, 1932, in Greenville, AL, to Richard & Mattie McClaney.
She was employed with the Birmingham Public School System for more than 25 years. She was an avid cook. One of her many passions included gardening. She also sold merchandise at the Farmer’s Market.
She was a member of Forty-fifth Street Baptist Church and served as a member of the choir until her health began to fail.
She was united in holy matrimony to Clemon Milton, Jr. in 1955. They celebrated 46 years of marriage before he completed his earthly journey on Tuesday, January 1, 2002.
Willie Mae departed this life on Thursday, January 10, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband - Clemon; two brothers – Archie McClaney and Robert McClaney; and two sisters – Mildred Barganier and Margaret Salter.
To cherish her memories, she leaves three children – Clemon Milton, III, Teresa Milton, and Erskine J. Milton, all of Birmingham, AL; four grandchildren – Rakeeme Mahogany, Jamale Watts, Marcus D. Milton, and Tanisha Fields; five sisters – Mary Lee Moorer – Greenville, AL, Katie Middleton – Pensacola, FL, Ella Tate – Birmingham, AL, Edna “Chalmers” Hudson, and Emma Webb; and seven great grandchildren – Rakell, Keemie, Ne’Shaun, Neacia, Te’Darien, Ramiah, and Makenzie.
