Willie Mae Woods Haskins was born to the late Rev. Silas and Dollie B. Woods, on April 17, 1941, in Ragland, Alabama, and confessed Christ at an early age at Morning Star Baptist Church in Ragland, Alabama. She departed this life in Good Water, Alabama, on March 30, 2019, at the age of 77.
Willie Mae's education included New Town Junior High, Ragland, Alabama, St. Clair County Training School, Pell City, Alabama, Daniel Payne College, Birmingham, Alabama, and Alabama State University (B.A. and M.A. Degrees in Education)- Montgomery, Alabama. Her professional career included teaching at Ragland Elementary, Ragland, Alabama, Pell City Elementary, Pell City, Alabama, Mobile, Alabama and West End Elementary, Etowah County, Alabama.
In addition to her parents, Willie Mae was preceded in death by her sister, Mrs. Katie Bonner (Edward), and her husband, Rev. Henry Haskins.
She is survived by brothers: Rev. John M. Woods (Barbara), Gadsden, Alabama, and Mr. Larry Woods (Ruby), Greensboro, Alabama; sister: Mrs. Earlene Turner (Donald Ray), Ragland, Alabama; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Willie Mae was a Pastor's wife, soloist, and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Alexander City, Alabama.
