William Bell was born October 10, 1925, to the union of Roland and Ella Bell. He was educated in the Birmingham School System and went on to attend North Carolina A & T State University.
William and Ruby Webb were united in holy matrimony and celebrated more than 45 years of marriage.
William confessed Christ early in life, uniting in membership with Mount Nebo Missionary Baptist Church. He later united with 37th Street Baptist Church until his health failed.
William’s career covered many decades of dedicated efforts with the Railroad (Terminal Station) and the U. S. Postal Services. He was diligent in his study of God’s word as Sunday School Teacher, Deacon Ministry and Church Finance. He loved singing old hymns for devotional services.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roland and Ella Bell, sister Rosa “Honey Babe” Moore, brother Clarence “Pop” Dean, Sr., and stepdaughters Ruby Hillary and Barbara Dickson of Chicago, IL.
He leaves to mourn his passing a loving and devoted wife: Ruby M. Bell; stepdaughters: Alice Lee (Hamilton) of Trumbull, CT, and Constance Smith (Willie); brother-in-law: Johnny Webb (Pauline) of Chicago, IL; niece: Brenda Dean; and a host of other family members and friends.
