Ven Anthony Robinson was born on September 12, 1958 to Viola Agee-Robinson and Pierce Williamson in Bessemer, Alabama. At the age of seven, Ven moved to Brooklyn, NY, where he spent majority of his life making plenty of friends and associates all over. Ven attended Transit Tech High School.
In 1978, Ven met Lillie Sage and from this relationship came three sons and one daughter. In 1989, Ven met Judy A. Sims. The couple would then wed in 2007. From this union came two sons and three step children.
Throughout his life, Ven worked as a security guard for multiple organizations and worked at auto repair shops where he broke down and fixed cars.
In 1995, Ven moved to the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. He became a father and mentor figure to many gaining him the nickname “Pop”. Ven was loved and well respected by many in the community. Outside of being an outstanding father, brother husband, uncle and friend, Ven’s favorite hobby was “LEARNING.”
Ven always had a book with him and loved to read he would often say “Knowledge is Power and when your mind is powerful nobody would be able to get over on you.” Ven would use his knowledge along with his strength to fight his ailments. Ven had a love for dressing. No matter where he was going he had to look his best and not a stitch of his clothing could be out of place.
Ven also enjoyed DJ’ing at house parties and clubs in the 80’s and 90’s. He loved music and would often blast his oldies every weekend. When you hear him play his music just know it was going to be a good day. Above all Ven had a heart of gold and never turned away anyone from food, shelter and words of encouragement. A man of wisdom as he would give humble and honest advice to all.
