Theotis Black was born February 21, 1941 to the late Christine Bender and Fred Black. He was raised by the late Edna Black and W. C. McBride. He was proceeded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Victoria Elaine Smith Black and son, Eric Theotis Smith.
He was educated in the Birmingham City School System where he attended Thomas Elementary and graduated from Ullman High school in 1958. He furthered his education at Alabama A & M College where he met and married his late wife. While there he made many life long friends. He spent 32 years driving trucks over the road to support his family. Over the years, he drove for Baggett, Boyd Brothers, and Sitton Motor Lines.
He confessed Christ at an early age and attended various churches Throughout his life. His last church in attendance was First Baptist Church in Ensley under the pastorate of Rev. Gilmore.
During his last active days, he attended the Adult Day Care at Hopewell Baptist Church where he made many new friends.
He took his final rest from his earthly vessel on July 11, 2018.
He leaves to cherish his memory a host of relatives and friends.
