She was educated in the Birmingham School System, where she attended McCaw School and Western Olin High School. She retired from the Birmingham School System.
Susie was a true woman of God, she was a woman of faith, and she feared the Lord. She had a heart of gold and always made everyone feel welcomed and loved. She truly had a direct contact with Jesus Christ and everyone knew it. She later moved and joined Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend William J. Sankey. She continued her membership under the leadership of Reverend Charles E. Hollingsworth until God called her home.
