Samuel Bruner, Sr.

Early in life he confessed his love for Jesus Christ and joined Peace Green Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Sam Shepard. He later moved his membership and became a loyal member of Beulah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend E.D. Harris.

Samuel was educated in the Birmingham School System; He was a proud graduate of A. H. Parker High School. During his career, he was employed by Birmingham Iron & Steel and Metal Craft Inc. Samuel Bruner played for the Birmingham Black Barons– Barnstorming Team in 1963.

His battle of life was won Saturday, July 27, 2019 when his earthly body sojourned to be with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, wife, 2 daughters, brother and sister.

His life is mourned, yet his life is rejoiced by his sons: Ricky (Lisa), Jonesboro, GA, and  Samuel Jr., College Park GA; Grandsons: Torrey, Ivan, Ricky Jr., and Cody, Atlanta GA; Granddaughters: Jaylan, and Mika, Atlanta, GA; Great-Grandsons: KeOntye, Ivan Jr., and Logan; Great-Granddaughter: Makaya; Brothers: Cornelius, and Jackie (Edith); Sister: Mary, Birmingham, AL; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends, and special sister: Bessie.
