Robert Fowler

Robert Fowler was born May 27, 1926, to the union of the late Mr. John Henry and Mrs. Celia Fowler in Brewton, Alabama.

Robert was educated in Brewton and was baptized at the age of 10 at First Merietta Baptist Church in Brewton. He later joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.

He moved to Birmingham, Alabama, in 1943 and was employed with the Streets and Sanitation Department for the City of Birmingham. He met and was united in holy matrimony to Lucy Moore in 1944 and to this union 6 children were born; Flora, Carnell, Ellis, Farley, Wesley, and Nethadius.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Lucy; his daughter, Flora; and son, Carnell.

He leaves to cherish his memory: four sons: Ellis, Farley, Wesley, and Nethadius, all of Birmingham, AL; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; six great. great-great grandchildren; two sister, Mary Speights and Betty Cowley of New York, NY; one brother, Walter (Claudia) Fowler of Brewton, AL; one brother-in-law, Rev. Joe Moore of Birmingham, AL; one sister-in-law, Aline Dubose of Birmingham, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
