Robert J. Artis

Mr. Robert Julius Artis was born March 3, 1956, to Mr. Ernest  Dale Artis and Mrs. Elizabeth Hamilton Artis. 

He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age and became a part of the Apostolic Doctrine as an adult.

He was educated in the Birmingham City School System and graduated from John Herbert Phillips High School. He then joined the United States Army.

He met, fell in love and was united in holy matrimony in 1983, to Mrs. Shirley E. Chatmon.

Robert was preceded in death by his brothers: Willien Thomas Denson and Lionel Artis;

He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife: Mrs. Shirley E. Artis; daughter: La’Shawnda Chatmon; grandchildren: Quin, Tonuqa, Brandon and Shanteria; brothers:  Ernest Dale Artis, Jr., Jessie (Roberta) Artis; close nephews: Derry Denson and Warren Denson, Sr.; close niece: Wyteria Denson Mott; host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
