Richella (Bennings) Bodiford

Mrs. Richella Bennings Bodiford was born on December 26, 1933 to Mr. Marion Bennings and Mrs. Evelyn Minnifield in Birmingham, Alabama.

Richella was educated in the Birmingham City School System and graduated from A.H. Parker High School.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Ollie Bodiford in 1989. They resided in Birmingham, Alabama.

Richella was a faithful member of Groveland Baptist Church for many years.

Richella retired as a chef from Dobbs House at Birmingham Airport after 43 years of service.

The sweetest lady we know. A woman of virtue and humility, Richella passed from this life to life everlasting on April 2, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband; Ollie Bodiford, a brother James Bennings; a wonderful daughter; Thelma L. Bennings Williams and granddaughter Christina Rachelle Daniels.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving and devoted daughter; Harriett Woods Byrd, a brother; John B. Cooper, a sister Margret B. Short, five grandchildren: Rena (Alan)Durgan, Erica Byrd, Eric Byrd, Brittaney Williams and Samuel Byrd. Eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
