Reverend Linda Ann Smedley-Hall was born on October 11, 1954, in Gadsden, Alabama, to Linnie Dora Marable-Smedley and Charlie Smith. She confessed Jesus as her personal savior at a young age and served graciously as a young girl at Sweet Home United Methodist Church as a choir member.
In 1973, she graduated from Gadsden High School and later matriculated to Gadsden State Community College. In 1993 she earned her cosmetology license and served others as a talented beautician for several years. In 1995, she received her certificate to serve as a substitute teacher.
She later married the late Eddie Evans and from the union bore a son and daughter, Eric and Eris-Lyndetta Evans.
Having survived multiple house fires, Linda was inspired to start the Rev. Linda Hall Angel Burn Walk Foundation Incorporated. This non-profit organization’s mission was to aid victims injured by fires and educate the public on how to take preventative measures to avoid catastrophic fires at home. Linda volunteered at burn units throughout Atlanta, GA, and created an Alabama state license’s plate to benefit the foundation.
In Mid-2010, Linda became a licensed minister and enjoyed fellowship at Mt. Joy Baptist Church in Trussville, Alabama. Linda was known to have anointed vocals. She was a member of the Birmingham mass choir, but she is best known for her service and kindness to others. She never met a stranger and befriended many with her jubilant spirit and joyous giving. She was well loved by her neighbors, family, and friends. Linda loved the Lord and her greatest ministry was how she cherished and cared for His creation.
On Saturday, April 28, 2019, Linda made the victorious journey home in which she was greeted by her father, Charlie Smith; sister, Brenda McCloud; daughter Eris-Lyndetta Evans; son, Eric Devon Evans; husband, Robert Hall, great-nephew Darryl “DJ” Richardson, Jr. and childhood friend Mary Alice Smith.
