Renica Shondrell Garrett was born October 14, 1975 in FortBennett, Georgia to Carl Anthony Garrett and Nelda Faye Garrett.
At a young age, she confessed her life to Christ and became a member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Bernard Williams. She was very active in the church serving on the usher board, praise dancing, and participating in Sunday school.
Renica attended Calloway elementary school, Daniel Payne middle, and graduated from Ensley High School. After graduating high school, she attended Jefferson State Community College, receiving her Associate in Business Administrations.
She was employed with UAB Sodexo for many of years before leaving on disability due to medical reasons.
She wanted to accomplish and achieve many goals that she had set forth for herself. Late Friday evening, on May 31, 2019 after her prolonged illness, she answered the call from heartache to reward and entered eternal rest.
She was preceded in death by her son, JaCari Maddox, her great grandparents, James and Ruby Garrett, grandparents, Fessor and Earnestine McKinney, and aunt and uncles Earnestine Walker, Columbus Offord, and Herbert McKinney.
Her memories will forever be cherished by her loving mother, Nelda Faye Garrett, father, Carl Anthony Garrett, sister and brother, Carl and Maria Garrett, three children; Sakina Garrett, Jalia Maddox,and Larcarnly Lewis III, her grandkids; Ayden Wade, Lauryn Toby, Jarquarrius Eatmon Jr, Cameron Hunt, and Londyn Hunt. She is loved by a host of cousins and other relatives.
