Our beloved Mary Ann Perry Marbury was born August 12, 1953, to
the parents of the late Willie and Earnestine Perry in Leeds,
Alabama.
She devoted her life to Christ at an early age and remained a
devoted Christian. She was a dedicated member of Little Rock
Missionary Baptist Church. She has served faithfully as Sunday
School Secretary, Sunday School Teacher, Choir President,
Culinary Director, Usher, Chaplain of the Women’s Ministry and
Financial Secretary.
Those who knew her knew she loved the Lord. She was loved and
respected by all.
Mary was a 1971 graduate of Leeds High School. After graduation,
she attended Jefferson State Junior College. She was employed with
Krispy Kreme and Gold Kist for over twenty years.
She was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Hosea Marbury. This
union was blessed with one daughter and five sons.
She enjoyed singing in the choir giving all praises to the Lord. She
was a devoted caregiver to several families in the community. Her
hobbies included baking, cooking and shopping.
She transitioned this life on November 8, 2018, at St. Vincent
Hospital surrounded by some of her family.
She was preceded in death by parents and brother, David Kelly.
She leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to her family
and friends.
She is survived by her husband: Hosea Marbury; one daughter:
Schlereia Perry; five sons: Laron Perry (Michelle), Demarius Perry
(Tiffany), Lamar Threatt (Deborah), Earl Marbury (Brandy) and
Carlos Marbury (Starla): nine grandchildren; five siblings:
Christine Perry, Willie Lee Perry (Diane), Sarah Copeland
(Anthony), James Turner and Michelle O’Neal (Kerry); two sisters-
in-law: Helen McCain and Murriel Lee Moore; three brothers-in-
law: Owen Marbury (Gloria), James Marbury (Evelyn) and George
McIntyre; special friend: Sarah Collins; and numerous nieces,
nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
