On July 22, 1935, two angels entered into this world as twins and they were named Lucille Mandy and Louise Virginia, born to the late Tolman Sr. and Irene Murphy Harris in Blount County.
They both were educated in the Blount County School System.
They confessed Christ at an early age at Liberty Church of God in Hayden, Alabama, under the leadership of the late Elder E. P. Dawson.
Louise later joined Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Irondale under Rev. J. P. Parnell, where she served many years. Louise eventually moved her membership to Mt. Mariah Baptist Church Gate City under the leadership of Dr. Darryl A. Lee, where she served faithfully until her health began to decline.
Louise joined in holy matrimony with Wilbur Roy Gilbert, Sr. and to this union seven children were born. Years later, Louise was remarried to Charlie Hill and this union was honored until Charlie's passing.
Louise was preceded in death by her twin sister: Lucille Mandy Harris Hollonquest; brother: Tolman Jr.; daughters: Diane and Angela; sons: Michael and Wilbur, Jr.; and grandson: Antonio Gilbert.
Louise leaves to honor her memories, two daughters: Brenda Sumpter and Patetia Gilbert; one son: Jerome Gilbert (Barbara); five sisters: Lorene Harris Smiley (Jerrius), Virginia Harris Calhoun, Edna Perrin (Johnny), Rosie Harris and Ornetta Murphy; three brothers: Lonnie (Debra), Steve, and James; nine grandchildren: LeShone Fredrick (Brian), Edwina Sumpter (Kenneth), Kioka Holder (Jerome), Kimberly Gilbert, Ashley Gilbert, Jessica Jenkins (Larry), William Nash, Eddie Sumpter, III (Cora), and Terran Gilbert; nineteen great grands; one great, great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.
