Lillie Paige Obituary

Sister Lillie B. Paige, was born May 24, 1935, to the late Willie Brown and the late Mae Bell Johnson.

Sis. Paige accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age in Pachuta, Mississippi, and her faith never waivered. She loved Jesus and she walked with Him and He with her. In 2000, she became a   member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. William H. Walker, Sr., where she remained until death.

She retired from Mercy Hospital in Toledo, Ohio, in the 90’s. She was a part of the Civil Rights Movement and believed in justice for all. She was one of the first black people to vote in Birmingham.

She united in holy matrimony to Albert Kelly, Sr., and to this union ten children were born. She later married Wesley Paige. Two of her children preceded her in death; Clinton and Jerome.

She was a loving homemaker where her doors were open to anyone in need of a meal. On Thursday, August 8, 2019. she was called home to be with the Lord.

Lillie Paige leaves loving memories to be cherished by four daughters: Mary Kelly, Phyllis Slaughter, Cylon Kelly and Kimberly (Billy) Keith, all of Birmingham, Alabama; four sons: Albert, Jr. of Michigan, Cris of South Carolina, Larry and Kenneth of Ohio; two sisters: Joyce and Mary of Maryland; one brother: Willie, Jr. of Maryland; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
