Lael Cathy (Tucker) Edwards

Lael was born March 24, 1966, to the late Weston and Ann McDaniels Tucker. She was born in New York City. After the passing of her mother as a small child, she was sent to Birmingham, Alabama, to be cared for and raised by her aunt and uncle Charlie and Martha Washington.

Lael received her formal education in the Birmingham City School System. She graduated from Huffman High School Class of 1984.

Lael accepted Christ into her life at an early age. As a child she was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and later re-dedicated her life to Christ and became a member of Nest of Love Christian Church, where she affectionately served on the Homeless Ministry.

Lael demonstrated unconditional love to everyone she met. She devoted her time, energy and her heart to her children and taking care of her three grandchildren, who brought her so much joy and happiness. She loved family time and caring for animals.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Willie C. Edwards; two children: Eric (Beverly) Williams and Juanicia Williams; three grandchildren: Emanuel, Daniel and Isaiah Williams; a special childhood friend: Zeola Hill-Haynes; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
