We celebrate the new eternal life into which Joseph Alvin Morgan has entered, in the presence of his God, Lord, and Savior Jesus Christ. His physical journey in life began June 19, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Gertrude Evans Morgan and Raymond J. Morgan, Sr.
He confessed Christ at an early age and united with the 22nd Avenue Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama.
He was preceded in death by mother Gertrude Evans Morgan; father Raymond J. Morgan, Sr.; stepmother Mildred Woods Morgan; six brothers and six sisters; and Geraldine Strickland.
Joseph Alvin received his formal education from Hudson Elementary and Carver High School in Birmingham, Alabama. He was self employed having learned and gained the skills to become a painter and owning his own painting business.
Joseph Alvin made his transition on Sunday, January 14, 2018, after a valiant struggle against a lengthy illness.
He leaves to cherish his memory, one son Joseph Eric Morgan, one daughter Kim, brother Pelatiah “Jerome” Ysrael, sisters Marie Hunt, Migdawlaw A. Yisrael, and sister in laws, Helen Morgan and Mary Harris Morgan; grandchildren; Niyasmine, Treaston, Shaniya, Jynai, Joseph Jr., Patrick, Jakobe, Dontae, Ethan, Joseph II, and China; great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, special friend Sheree and friends.
