Jessie Joe Wells

Mr. Jessie Joe Wells was born August 19, 1950, to the late James and Bette Wells in Birmingham, Alabama. Early in life he confessed Christ and became a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He served with the Usher Ministry, Men’s Choir and Couples Ministry.

Jessie served in the United States Navy and received an Honorable Discharge.

He was united in marriage to A. Jeanette Wells on June 3, 1972. Added to this union were Marc, Jesse, Keyoka, Jessica, and Lemicha.
He was employed at American Cast Iron Pipe for thirty-eight years, retiring January 3, 2013.

On May 5, 2019, he stepped out of this earthly life into eternity. Jessie is now residing in Heaven with his brother Hudson Wells and our Heavenly Father.
He is survived by his loving wife A. Jeanette Wells; his children: Marc (Felecia) Wells of Rock Hills, S.C., Jesse (Tristese) Wells, Keyoka (Ryan) Lawson, Jessica Gordan and Lemicha Gordon, all of Birmingham, AL; his siblings: Betty Nears of Hattiesburg, MS, Terry (Alethea) Wells of Birmingham, AL, and Patsy (Timothy) Waters of Montevallo, AL; and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
