Mrs. Hattie Mae Perry was born July 1, 1927, in Marion, AL to Floyd and Odell King, born second of eleven siblings.
She attended Marion Baptist Academy School. She confessed to Christ at an early age at Hopewell Baptist Church in Marion, Alabama. After moving to Birmingham, Alabama, she later joined New Rising Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Tommy Chappell until her health failed.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Reverend Wendell Perry, Sr on December 31, 1963, giving recognition of fifty four years of marriage and to this union two daughters: Doris Rowser and Reatha Lawson and one son: Wendell Perry, Jr. were born. Later moving to Birmingham, after 17 years of service, she retired from Alabama Industry for the deaf and blind.
On October 4, 2018, she departed her earthly life. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories; a loving and devoted husband, Reverend Wendell Perry, Sr of Birmingham, Alabama, son: Wendell Perry, Jr. of Humboldt, Tennessee, daughters: Doris Rowser of Birmingham, Alabama and Reatha Lawson, a loving and devoted son in law, Arthur of Montgomery, Alabama, siblings: Martha Scott of Bronx, New York, Richard Lee of Buffalo, New York and John Henry Lee of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, grandchildren: Timothy King of Birmingham, Alabama, Ashley Smith of Birmingham, Alabama, Brandon Perry of Huntsville, Alabama and Kayla Caine of Arizona, three great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
