Gertrude “Grandma” Palmer was born September 6, 1924 to the late Oliver and Samuel Harville in Plantersville, Alabama. She was the oldest of 12 children, 10 of which proceeded her in death. She obeyed the gospel and was baptized into Christ at an early age at the Ensley Church of Christ in Birmingham, Alabama.
She spent over 60 years with her husband Harrison Palmer, who proceeded her in death. Together they raised one daughter, an adopted son, Dante Palmer (who proceeded her in death), four nieces (two of which proceeded her in death) and four grandchildren.
