Gerald L. Strickland

Friday morning, April 5, 2019, Gerald L. Strickland, 57, of Birmingham, Alabama, departed this life and entered into eternal peace.  He gave his life to Jesus Christ at an early age, when he and his parents moved from New York to Leeds, Alabama in 1975. 
He was born in Leeds, Alabama, on July 10, 1961, to Mr. Chester Strickland and Mrs. Gracie Garrett Strickland.  Gerald graduated from Leeds High School in the Class of 1979.  He attended Auburn University, Alabama State University, before transferring to UAB, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and Science.  Gerald was an employee of UPS (United Parcel Service) for 30 years, and retired in March of 2018. 
Gerald leaves to mourn: his parents, Chester and Gracie Garrett Strickland and a host of family and friends.
