Mr. Earl Palmer aka “Pat” was born on September 26, 1953, in Union Springs, Alabama, to the late Ida Mae Parker Donald and Willie Earl Palmer. He was the second eldest of four children. Earl was educated in the Birmingham City School System. He was a steel worker at Connor Steel and Stackham Valves and Fittings for many years. He also worked Forest Hill Cemetery, Jordan Scrap and Metal, and Masterbilt Motors of Birmingham.
Earl accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in his forties. Although he never joined a church, he was a frequent visitor at Zion Hope Baptist Church until he lost his eyesight in 2012.
He was a fun loving person who didn’t meet any strangers. He loved to laugh and joke and could make you laugh about anything. He loved to reminisce about the past and his childhood. He loved his family.
In July 2018, he was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer and fought a good fight until the end of his life on November 11, 2018. He will surely be missed by his family.
He is preceded in death by his father Willie Earl Palmer, mother Ida Mae Parker Donald, step-father Clarence Henry Donald, sister Brenda K. Donald, grandparents Colonel Parker, Sr. and Mahala Gray Parker.
He leaves to cherish his memory, sisters: Elaine Parker, Long Beach, NY, and Sharon D. Chiles, Birmingham, AL; nephews: Devin Parker, Devin Parker, Jr., Kyndle Parker, Long Beach, NY, and Quinton K.
