Mr. Devon E. Collins was born October 13th, 1969, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Reverend Edward and Ruby Dean Collins. He was reared in Birmingham, Alabama, and matriculated in the Birmingham City School System attending, Norwood Elementary School and J. H. Phillips High School. Devon played football as a Red Raider at Phillips High School and became a member of Woods Joy Masonic Lodge #752, MWPHGL, F & AM of Alabama. After high school Devon attended Knoxville College and played football while pursuing a degree in Business. While attending college he pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated, forming lifelong brotherhoods.
Devon confessed Christ at an early age joining Mt. Mineral Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life he became a member of Ephesus Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Devon leaves to cherish his memory two brothers: Reginald Collins Sr. and Bernard Carpenter both of Birmingham, Alabama; two nephews Reginald Collins Jr. and Caleb Carpenter; five great uncles: Richard Cox (Sylvia), Charles Cox (need to add), Ernest Cox (Roxanne), Isaac Cox (Faye) and Samuel Cox (Viola), all of Birmingham, Alabama; uncle: Johnny L. Washington, Jr. (Jacqueline); three aunts: Gloria (Willie), Bernadine Sanders (Richard) and Maxine Wright (Monroe), all of Birmingham, Alabama;, two special cousins: Jacqueline Belcher and Dramesha Jones both of Birmingham, Alabama; Devon also leaves to cherish his memory a host of cousins, relatives, friends, his beloved Masonic Brothers and his beloved brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated.
