Carolyn (Smith) Allen

Mrs. Carolyn Allen was born on December 9, 1944, to Mr. Joseph Smith, Sr. and Mrs. Eva Mae Smith. She accepted Christ at an early  age at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She later united with Bethel Baptist Church, Berney Points under the direction Reverend William H. Greason.

Carolyn was educated in the Birmingham City Schools System.  After leaving school, Carolyn began employment at UAB. Carolyn retired as a Physical Therapy Attendant after over 30 years of employment at UAB.

After retirement, Carolyn was able to devote time to her favorite past time, cooking for others! Carolyn catered many banquets and other elegant affairs, she truly loved doing this. Her love of catering came in a close third, only to her love of The Lord, (if the doors of the church were open, she wanted to be there) and her family.

Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her parents, seven siblings, her husband, Mr. Eddie Lee Allen, and her son, Terrance Lee Allen.

She leaves to cherish her memories a devoted daughter: Traci K. Allen; a dedicated brother: Joseva (Lawrence) Speed; a loving sister: Joanna Foster; a loving brother: Reginald Smith (Cathryn); a loving sister-in-law: Dolly Thomas (Edison); and a host of other relatives and friends.
