Ms. Barbara Ann Gordon was born on October 1, 1952, in Birmingham, Alabama, to the late Freddie Gordon, Sr. and Lena Bell McCleod Gordon.
She was preceded in death by her brother Freddie Gordon, Jr. on March 29, 2018.
She was educated in the Birmingham City School System and graduated from Carver High School in 1970. Soon after graduation, she moved to New York and resided in the Boroughs of Brooklyn Queens. She was employed as a Supervisor at European American Bank (now Bank of America). Barbara returned to her residence in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1985, after a life threatening stroke.
She was baptized at and attended Bethel Baptist Church in Birmingham, Alabama (Collegeville), under the pastorship of Rev. Carter Gadson, (now at Central Missionary Baptist Church), where she served on the Usher Board.
She leaves to cherish her memories two children: daughter Michelle Gordon, son Oronde Gordon; eight grandchildren: Tavien Brazel, DaKendre Tucker, NaQueidrea McConico, MaKaila Bryant, Michale Gordon, Stephany Tucker, Jaden Gordon and Karlah Shamburger; sisters: Gloria (Willie) Abner, Bonnie White, Monica King and Priscilla King; brothers: David (Tera) Gordon and Terry Gordon; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
