Queen Ester Wood was born to Mr. Jessie Burnett and Mrs. Unzell Johnson Burnett on June 19, 1934, in Anniston, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her son, SFC Keith L. Burnettt, Sr.; her brothers Jessie, Freddie, James Alvin, Sylvester, and Floyd Burnett.
She confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Mariah Missionary Baptist Church. There, she served faithfully until her death on April 5, 2018.
A resident of Birmingham, Alabama, she graduated from A. H. Parker High School; later working in Nursing and Healthcare.
Queen had an intense love for fashion and was most known for her extravagant hats. As a seamstress, she created many beautiful designs for family, friends, and herself.
Cherishing her memories are three daughters, Terri Burnett Murray (Jerome), Lisa Wood Foster (Lonnie), Torlice Wood (Derrick); ten grandchildren, Keith Burnett, Jr. (Michelle), Gregory Burnett (Crystal), Cedric Burnett, Tericka Sanders (Adisa), DeJuan Burnett, Rickey White (Nikki), Brandon Wood, Ashli Bryant, Danyle Foster and David Foster; two sisters, Faye Levert (Francis), Beverly Ferguson (Phillip); two brothers, Ronald Burnett (Nadine) and Alphonso Burnett; Godsons, Lorenzo Hollis, Johnny Hollis and Kerry Lloyd; Goddaughter, Theresa Miles; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and many loving friends.
