September 5, 1960, in Birmingham, Alabama, God smiled on Otis Lee Agee, Sr., and Gracie Mae Agee, Blessing them with their fourth child, Kelvin Earl Agee.
Kelvin confessed Christ as a young man and was baptized by Reverend L. L. Moody at Evening Star Baptist Church in Edgewater, Alabama. He later joined New Covenant Bible Church under the pastorate of Rev. Junius Clay. For several years, Kelvin was a faithful member of Rising Star Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and member of Fishers of Men.
Kelvin attended Jefferson County Schools and graduated from Minor High School. He attended Shelton State, Jefferson State, and Athens State College and received an Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting from Southern Technical College. Kelvin was very proud of his drafting work and helped to design the fellowship hall at Rising Star Baptist Church, The Smithfield Library, The Birmingham Shuttlesworth Airport Parking Lot and many more buildings around Alabama. He taught Computer Aided Drafting at Woodlawn High School where he loved helping to mold the lives of his students.
Kelvin married Cheryl Saffold in 1988, and to this union two daughters were born, Kimberly Erin and Kristina Elizabeth.
Kelvin was known as the "Poster Child" for perseverance and determination. He had told many doctors that they do not determine his fate, only God knows what lies ahead... God knew on March 14, 2018, that Reverend Kelvin needed to come home.
He leaves to celebrate his memory, his wife: Cheryl Saffold Agee; daughters: Kimberly Erin Agee (Douglas Murray) and Kristina Elizabeth Agee (Julius Riddle); grandchildren: Kristen Joi Riddle and Douglas Murray, III; brother: Randy Agee (Cachitta); sister: Allison Windham (Tobie); special cousin/brother: Harold Treadwell (Oleria); aunts: Ethel Agee, Frettie Agee, Ethel Mae Sanders, Earthleen Ottison, Christine Massey (Melvin), Pearlie Morris, Ruby Richardson (Michael); uncles: R. G. Agee (Martha), Obie Treadwell (Gracedell), Ben Treadwell (Annette); mother-in-law: Charlie Mae Saffold, sisters-in-law:Sheryl Ortiz, Marcella Agee and Stephanie Saffold; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Kelvin was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Otis Leverett Agee, and Bruce Dexter Agee.
