Jimmie Lee Ervin was born on April 21, 1947 to the late Ms. Josephine Ervin of Leeds, Alabama.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend I.B. Perry.
Jimmie was raised and dearly loved by his mother and maternal grandmother, Helen C. Ervin who preceded him in death.
Jimmie was educated in the Leeds, Alabama School Systems and later on decided to leave Alabama and move to New York City, then later migrated to New Jersey.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Cook and brother; Kennie Davis, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife, Tina Hubbard Ervin, three sons; James Ervin (Barbie), Chris Ervin (Nikka), Marvin Campbell (Tasha), one step-son Altonio Warren (Kimberly), two daughters; Cassandra Matthews and Tecora Weeks, two step-daughters; Malika Warren and Jasmine Rivas (Angel), 27 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, siblings; Helen Harris Jackson (Fernando), aunts; Mary Ervin and Lula Mae Scott and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
