Gussie Pate, Jr.

Gussie Pate, Jr. was born on February 27, 1968, to Mr. Gussie and Velma Pate. 

At an early age, Gussie confessed Christ and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. C.B. Scott.  He was educated in both the Birmingham City School and Pickens County School Systems, where he graduated from Aliceville High School. 

Gussie was a well known and loved humanist. In addition to him loving his family, his strongest passion and devotion was to his three grandchildren. He was an employee for the City of Birmingham Public Works for 28 years. 

On April 4, 2018, Gussie made his transition into eternal life to reunite with his mother Mrs. Velma L. Pate. 

He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted partner of 29 years, Charlene Holley; daughter: Christine Holley; son: Christopher Holley; three grandchildren: Christian Cole, Codarrius Pennington, Jr. and Londen; a loving father: Gussie Pate, Sr.; sisters: Melissa Pate and Mona Pate of Birmingham, AL; one godsister; Letetia Williams; two aunts, five uncles, a special cousin-in-law: Eric James, Sr.; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
